At Odeillo, it?s difficult to know which energy is the most powerful: The energy from the sun multiplied by the fabulous fields of mirrors or that of the scientists working to share their knowledge with the general public. You decide when you?re there!
Known throughout the world because of its exceptional architecture, the largest solar power station in the world attracts numerous visitors.
The Great Solar Furnace Exhibition ? The sun conquered:
You will discover the mysteries of this temple of the Sun and its role in the domain of Scientific Research.
Interactive pedagogic tools explain the physical principles of the conversion of different energies (water, wind, geothermal energy and solar energy), the characteristics of light (composition, propagation, absorption, reflection, concentration), the history of the Solar power station THEMIS, the history and news of the activities of the Odeillo solar power station.
A simulator of solar fusion and a film about the research in the laboratory to round off your visit.
... and as the world of research evolves, the exhibition does the same by regularly proposing new models and demonstration systems!
Open all year except the 25th December and the 1st January.
