Villefranche de Conflent: Discover the city and its ramparts...

Medieval city from the 11th century, fortified by Vauban in the 17th century, in the heart of the Pyrenees Orientales, at the foot of the Canigou. Classed as one of the most beautiful villages of France, Villefranche is one of the 14 sites of Vauban?s work which have been classified on a worldwide scale by UNESCO. Inside the fortifications, in the narrow alleyways, crafts shops and picturesque shops have sprung up.
