A cloister more than 800 years old...
Elne cloister, 8 centuries old, is one of the rare cloisters in Roussillon to have remained intact. It?s one of the most prestigious and charged with history of our region.
The cloister, an appendage of the cathedral to which it is attached, is an irregular quadrilateral. It enables the link between the other educational buildings, the sacristy, the refectory and the vestry.
Protected from the outside world, the members of the religious order meditate. The galleries allow them to take walks and the light of day that bathes the garden gives them the opportunity to carry out various writing tasks.
